چکیده

introduction: the purpose of this study was to compare the subcutaneous tissue responses of freshly mixed or set endodontic root canal sealers ( i.e. roekoseal, ah26, ah plus) in wistar albino rats. materials and methods: seventy-two male albino rats weighing 200-250g were used. the animals were randomly divided into six groups of 12 rats each. root canal sealers were implanted in subcutaneous tissue in both freshly mixed and set conditions. the animals were sacrificed after 7, 14, and, 60 days. after histological preparation and hematoxylin and eosin (h&e;) staining, the specimens were evaluated for capsule thickness, severity and extent of inflammation, and necrosis. results were statistically analyzed using multivariate anova test. results: differences between set and freshly mixed root canal sealers were significant (p=0.014), but not significant between test materials and controls, except for capsule thickness and extent of inflammation between control and ah26 (p=0.019 and p=0.006 respectively). the interaction between the type of material and setting condition was significant for capsule thickness and severity of inflammation in ah26 specimens at 14 and 60 days (p=0.001). conclusion: based on the results of this study assessing the biocompatibility, both set and freshly mixed states can be used. Biocompatibility of four root canal sealers: a histopathological evaluation in rat subcutaneous connective tissue.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the subcutaneous biocompatibility of: Epiphany, AH Plus, Pulp Canal Sealer and Sealapex root canal sealers. Sixty rats were randomly assigned to 4 groups, according to the sealer. Polyethylene tubes containing the tested materials were inserted into the connective tissue. The implants were removed after 7, 15 and 30 days, and the tissue samples were process...

MTA-Based Root Canal Sealers

Mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) has been recommended for pulp capping, pulpotomy, apical barrier formation in teeth with open apexes, repair of root perforation and root canal obturation. Since, its introduction in 1993 by Torabinejad numerous studies have been published regarding various aspects of this material. The aim of this review was to consider MTA as root canal sealer and various labo...

Subcutaneous connective tissue response to primary root canal filling materials.

This study evaluated the response of the subcutaneous connective tissue of BALB/c mice to root filling materials indicated for primary teeth: zinc oxide/eugenol cement (ZOE), Calen paste thickened with zinc oxide (Calen/ZO) and Sealapex sealer. The mice (n=102) received polyethylene tube implants with the materials, thereby forming 11 groups, as follows: I, II, III: Calen/ZO for 7, 21 and 63 da...

Antibacterial activity of two MTA-based sealers root canal sealers

Aim This laboratory study evaluated the pH and antibacterial activity of Endo CPM Sealer and MTA Fillapex by two different methods, using White MTA and Endofill as references for comparison. Methodology Antibacterial activity was evaluated against Enterococcus faecalis (ATCC 29212). The agar diffusion test (ADT) was performed to evaluate the effect before setting. The materials were placed in f...
